I should mention at the outset, that i plan to use some of these short stories in my online curriculum development. (They are of different lengths. I retain the proprietary rights).Nevertheless, they are told for your enjoyment.
I knew a Man, Still do; who told me a story. As i recall it: There was a person (man or woman) lying on the bed in an attitude of someone reading from a book on a pillow. There was a slight drizzle; and this person had the door open, enjoying the sound of rain outside.
Suddenly, a menacing bare-chested fellow sauntered in. He just walked in as if he owned the place and stood there. No one moved. It was a standoff. Just as suddenly, the intruder walked confidently to the side of the bed without a word, and picked up the phone.
His attitude was as much as to say: i own this place.Where did he come from? But, why this particular door? How did he get there? Who was he calling, anyway?
I guess a good question would be: do you run or stay?
Here is a conundrum:at face down; – how vulnerable was the owner of the house? How should he or she react? Peacefully or Violently? Without a doubt, the intruder was a trespasser.
He just reached for the phone, without even a ‘hello’. How do you communicate with this fellow? He was strange and fierce in demeanor.
