Wisdom is everywhere present as access to the ‘original’-; Nature’s summation and arrangement of elements in Creation’s ‘Rock of Justice’. Essentially, Wisdom is the precious ruby in the ‘Truth Mosaic’;-visible and invisible. Humanity’s dual nature-the Mantle and the Potter’s Jar- are both attested to, in the soul’s continuing reach for Wisdom as the fountain of Peace and Love. She (Wisdom) is cultivated virtue as well as grace or gift; – the ‘being’ in all works.
Knowledge, as experienced through teaching and research is united into Truth by Wisdom; – ready access to ‘One’. Our focus is on the re-constitution of knowledge-; an interdisciplinary synthesis of acquired knowledge as a well-aimed ‘shaft of vision’. The alternative is knowledge compartmentalization by the various disciplines. At the meeting point of theory and praxis; one of the greatest accomplishments of the times, that is to say, the zeitgeist (spirit of the times), may well be the ‘Cancer Moonshot’ Program and the reach for the triumph of life.
This ‘stronghold shale’ of research (Cancer Moonshot) and cure can be made enduring by ‘Wisdom’s steadfastness’. The Politics of knowledge construction is of scarce importance to the many cancer patients, who see hope in this endeavor; – a shot at Wisdom’s spirit-powered ‘knowledge syntheses’ in pursuit of life. The synthesis is a limit to the stray from the truth, and from counterproductive reductionism. While keeping faith with ‘cause and effect’, understanding is helpful as a means to drawing back from the precipice of knowledge without prudence;-a move away from uninspired ‘tearful water’.
Some philosophers posit that truth is logically intuitively consistent in the scientific concept that ‘a causes b’ because the concept is experientially verifiable. Quite simply, because the concept is alive to the senses, it is empirically verifiable. A proposed interdisciplinary perspective, as a ‘winnowing wind’ by ‘essentialists’, is premised on the argument that if ‘a’ is thought to be responsible for ‘b’, the matter is still unsettled;-our emphasis being on ‘Matter’ and its materiality and form.
If ‘a’ +’b’=’c’, ‘b’ may not be what brings about ‘c’. The elements of ‘a’ may well have enabled elements of ‘b’; and not ‘b’ as a whole. The substantial question becomes the issue of the means of quantification of the ‘immaterial’ variables.
Wisdom has an answer!
The essence is more than appearances. We (with Wisdom) are referring to value as well as quantity or even weight; – a distinction that may be important in the search for remedies for Cancer as well as other allied diseases.
The interdisciplinary research advantage of the Cancer Moonshot program is like ‘bellows to coals’. There is bodily discomfort as a result of internal conflict. Yet, most disputes are not immediately manifested. Some cancer patients discover their conditions accidentally.
Meaning is given by experience but is not necessarily the cause of that experience. The splendor of wisdom-guided research is interdisciplinary unity. Research as a combination of Science, Technology, and Art is helpful to the human condition. Curative remedies may be found in History, Chemistry, Religion, and Biology, etc.-; consistent with Wisdom.
The Traditions of the three Abrahamic Faiths (Islam, Christianity, and Judaism) have a collection of books known as the Wisdom literature. The books are a historical collection of knowledge and wisdom about Person(s) with discernment, variously tried in Love’s crucible over time. The preferred method by the authors was that of traditional story-telling.
Regarding wisdom, we are immediately drawn to the story of Daniel who for a reason preferred ‘vegetables and water’ as sustenance for ten days.
He looked better after ten days!
What was then considered only religious is now the stuff of scientific inquiry. Similarly, their strategic prowess of David is legendary. It is possible to draw up several military models or doctrines from his strategic mettle. In these examples as well as others, belief functionally became reason plus experience plus trust.
David’s strategic skill was evident in their experience with Absalom. David made use of inner circle intelligence, as well as a unique method of delivery of this intelligence by Hushai (a trusted assistant). David also coupled Hushai’s skill as a counselor with higher Wisdom; – a further display of wisdom-guided strategic acumen.

As we progressively make a case for the interdisciplinary resolution of issues, the mathematical or empirical limit to the ultimate cause is inescapable. Faith does have a role, because of the inherently insufficient power or degree of analysis. At least for now, a delay of reason exists because of the infinite limit of the field of analysis. Regarding Cancer, we think it feasible to expand the interdisciplinary limit of reason to aid medical research, especially in Methodology.
Meanings often change with domain change;-the ‘order’ in Wisdom.
‘Cancer’ as interpretive nomenclature is personal to the patient. This is not nearly so for the caregiver. In essence, the inference drawn from a name is holistic in descriptive totality. Yet, the purpose is specific in meaning. Context provides clarity.
Essence is all!
Understanding is that of manner, place, and time. Whether a subject word is open to empirical or mathematical analysis may be a matter of what measurable difference it makes to the individual or the thought process. This is the meaning of the word or concept; not only as an experienced word but also in context, understanding, and purpose pursuit. Water out of a cleft rock may yet have its explanation by infinite Wisdom.
There is a need for enhanced vision in research, enabled by a focus on Wisdom’s ‘flagstaff’; – a ride on an interdisciplinary ‘swift steed’. As a means to draw water from a deep cistern; the knowledge base needs to reflect hearts and minds. In so doing, ‘systemic rejuvenation’, will constitute continuing revivification of the salvific role of love in mankind’s destiny.
Wisdom is access to the Truth. Logic is meaningful if it leads to wise choices. Yet, it is not all true that is logically valid. Wisdom suffices; – and so, ‘we thirst’.
Purpose and Method are more meaningful with wise counsel. Discipline specialization is of tremendous value to society. So also is balance. Wisdom is everywhere present as a guardian and guide. The balance will always depend on the position of the fulcrum in the entire ledger or beam of knowledge; – wisdom’s assembly.
The Cancer Moonshot program is for many, particularly the sick or the genetically prone; – a worthy shot at peace. There is a role for interdisciplinary ‘shepherds with discretion’. The precision of Discipline vocabulary needs to shift somewhat to accommodate interdisciplinary nuances, or even more liberally the creation of an interdisciplinary lexicon or language.
The human condition is enhanced by continuous inquiry into the relation of Wisdom to Cure;-not as a single Discipline pursuit, but as an interdisciplinary connection to ultimate knowledge. The gap in one branch of knowledge may be filled by the ‘surpluses’ from other branches. However, boundaries must be tested.
I knew a Man; Still do, who told me two stories. One of the stories is already incorporated in the essay. The second story concerned a Lady Naval Commander and her Ship. The ship’s crew ran into difficulty as they engaged the adversary. After the victory, they decided to return to base. On their way back, there was disagreement.
The Commandant had a trusted assistant who kept the crew in line. And from all appearances, he did. As they neared the base, the conflict intensified. The Commander was at a loss. Shortly after making it to shore, she discerned her trusted assistant in conference with her estranged husband. The topic of conversation was unclear.
The reader is enjoined to specifically apply this to Cancer and the need for an enhanced ‘spread’ detection mechanism and remedy.
